Why choose me?
I have been a vocal teacher since 2008. My teaching experience includes vocal technique, recording, song writing, stage techniques, music theory and harmonic singing. I have worked with styles including jazz, musical theatre, soul, pop, rock and more. I am more than happy to help people preparing for competitions, or professional gigs and auditions. All ages and levels are welcome!
I have been a singer since I was 14. I started off in local talent shows, before I entered the first Pop Idol in 2001, then POPSTARS: The Rivals the next year. The shows that found Will Young and created Girls Aloud respectively.
In 2006 I moved to London to study a Bmus in Popular Music and Performance, with Jazz Studies. Whilst in London I had the chance to experience working with established artists on a regular basis. I was able to provide live backing vocals for Will Young, Charlotte Church, Noel Sullivan (from Hear’say), Eric Ness and just this year I worked with my choir, New Harmonix – many of whom are vocal students, to record a track with Leighton Jones, from 2016’s The Voice. I had a residency in the legendary Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club – Blue Sundays, got to work on an advert for The 2012 World Cup as part of a choir and was part of a well-established, London-based, 12-piece band – Sashi & The Wild Beans, performing in festivals up and down the UK, including the Secret Garden Party, Fieldview, Beach Break Live and Glastonbury – main stage 2011.
